The Attic Sanctuary

Attics can be such a waisted space. Most people just use them as storage . However, if there is a staircase, wonderful things can happen. We turned this attic into an artist retreat. The walls were done in a technique called backdrop. Many photographers use this background in their photo shoots. It is done with many variations of the same shade troweled on in many directions. This is quite a sloppy process, so tarp thoroughly. In these shots I used cream, white and taupe. The attic now is truly a wonderland of excitement and beauty.

Haunted kitchens

I acquired a job at a very unusual address- 666! I thought, should I or shouldn't I? As it turns out, the owners were most enjoyable and not scary at all. So we decided to Venetian Plaster the kitchen in a chocolate brown, hoping the the spirits would not make the plaster fall of the walls. We got lucky.
The kitchen beams were separated about twenty inches from one another. A beautiful
combination of earthy colors was combined with stucco and lustre stone to create a dull but
shimmery feeling. I think everyone in the house was pleased, including the spirits .
